Gulf and South Atlantic Council Appointments

Capt Dylan Hubbard, the President of the Florida Guides Association, writes a letter to express support for specific individuals to represent the interests of the fisheries, the industry, and recreational fishermen at the regional councils. The letter suggests Capt Gary Jarvis, former mayor of Destin, for the Gulf Council appointee and Robert Spottswood, Jr for the South Atlantic Fishery Management Council. Other endorsements for the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council include Kelia Paul and Ed Walker. The letter concludes with gratitude for the consideration of the recommendations.

To Whom It May Concern,

The Florida Guides Association would like to send this letter supporting who we feel would best represent the interests of the fisheries, our industry and the recreational fisherman as a whole best at our regional councils.

Please consider the following folks when formulating a list at the Governor’s office for submittal to the commerce office. We would like to see Capt Gary Jarvis, former mayor of Destin, as our gulf council appointee, and likewise at the South Atlantic fishery management council we feel Robert Spottswood, Jr would be who we want to see appointed to the SAFMC.

Thank you for your time and consideration in these matters, below are some other options we would like to also endorse for the Gulf of Mexico fishery management council in addition to our number one pick of Capt Gary Jarvis.
